Mint Chocolate Chip is a short story about two less-than-stellar criminals who inefficiently attempt to hold up an ice cream shop. They encounter staunch resistance from a vibrant cast of characters who, through inaction more than action, attempt to stop their robbery. This blog chronicles the making of this movie, from fundraising to production, all the way into festival submissions.
Writer/Director - Vernon Shaw
Vernon Shaw is a 20-year-old Cinematography major (yeah, the one that’s hard to get into) at Cal State Northridge. He has been making films since high school, and has since won several mediocre awards because of them. Originally a navy brat, Vernon has resided in various coastal towns of Virginia and California. His favorite color is orange, his drink of choice is milk , and if he could have any superpower, it would be flight. When he’s not busy writing about himself in the third person, he likes to write about himself in the first person (yes I do).
2nd Lead/Executive Producer - Scott Naurath
Well since Vernon wrote in third person, so will Scott Naurath. Scott Naurath was born in a cozy little town called Ventura. He has had a passion for film since the beginning of his life. He has been acting for many years now and is now branching out into directing. Scott enjoys riding on his motorcycle and doing anything active such as rock climbing, surfing and snowboarding to name a few. He also enjoys long walks on the beach and dinners by candle light.
